| Steve Jobs Cause of Death Revealed. |
Steve Jobs, one of the most visionary Americans of his industry and the co-founder of Apple computers, died Wednesday. He was 56 years old. Apple released a statement Wednesday night saying they had "lost a visionary and creative genius" and "his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."
Steve was fond of saying that he lived every day like it was his last. In 2005, following a bout with cancer, Jobs delivered Stanford University's commencement speech.
He said, "Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life," he said. "Because almost everything -- all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure -- these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important."
That is a powerful statement. ... "these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important". The question is "What was 'truly important' to Steve Jobs and more importantly, what is 'truly important' to you?"
Success and money were truly important to Steve Jobs. Forbes magazine estimated Steve Jobs net wealth at $8.3 billion in 2010, making him the 42nd wealthiest American.
Family was truly important to Steve Jobs. He has left behind a wife, a son, and three daughters (one from a previous relationship). His family said, "He was a great family man".
Religion was truly important to Steve Jobs. He was a professing Buddhist and married by a Zen Buddhist.
However, in the face of death, truth did not seem truly important to Steve Jobs (although we don't know what happened in his final moments).
Is the Truth truly important to you? When you stare death in the face will the Truth be what's truly important to you? You see, the Truth will set you free. Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." Most professing Buddhists do not believe Jesus is God's son, nor do they believe there is any God at all.
The real cause of death for Steve Jobs was not cancer, but sin. The wages of sin is death. The truth is that Steve Jobs was a sinner in need of a Savior. The truth is that death has come into the world because of sin. Steve Jobs was born a sinner in need of a Savior. The truth is that you were born a sinner and are in need of that same Savior. His name is not Buddha, but Jesus Christ.
In the face of death, Steve Jobs should have been worried about what is truly important. Steve should have been worried about his eternal soul that will never die, but rather live in one of two places of eternity forever. Steve Jobs should have been worried about heaven and hell? In fact, right now you should consider what's truly important, because you don't know when the moment will be when you will face your own death. You have an eternal soul and it is appointed for you to die once and then face the judgment of Almighty God. You will not be judged according to Buddha's standard, your standard or Steve Jobs' standard, but according to God's Holy standard.
God's standard of judgment is His Ten Commandments. You are probably familiar with them. If you were to die today would you be innocent or guilty of breaking God's commands?
How many lies have you told in your life time? The 9th Commandment says "Do not lie". The bible says all liars will have their part in the lake of fire (hell).
Have you ever taken something that didn't belong to you? The 8th commandment says "Do not steal". The bible says that no thief will enter into the kingdom of heaven.
God is Holy, Righteous and Just. He cannot and will not overlook your sins on the Day of Judgment. In fact, God's judgment of you will be so thorough that He will see the thoughts and the intentions of your heart.
Jesus said, "You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." That means every time you have looked with lust, even at the sinful pictures on the computer or iPhone screen that Steve Jobs created, you have broken the 7th Commandment that says "Do not commit adultery".
Jesus went on to say, "If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell."
Do you understand how serious and thorough the judgment of God will be concerning your sin ?

Jesus died, was buried, and on the third day rose from the dead. Jesus Christ defeated sin, death and the grave.

He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Please turn to Christ today, He will save your soul and give you eternal life in heaven with Him forever.
Steve Jobs is dead. You still have time to turn to Christ right now. Don't wait until it's too late.

I still hope God has been merciful towards Steve so has to accept him into heaven....like you said we don't know of his heart condition before his death. We know he was grieving of the pain that he endured through cancer. Let us as humans be compassionate and forgiving to one another. I believe that at some point before death occurs, that everyone is given a chance to have a conversation with God and to repent of their sins. None of us are fit to condem, past judgement and to put anyone in either heaven or hell. There is only one judge and that is God. Only God knew this mans heart therefore, regardless what his beliefs were, the ALL MIGHTY GOD knew him, his thoughts, his heart because he made him in his like image. For those that are too busy passing judgment, you just make sure that when your time comes, you are not too busy trying to send someone to hell and that your soul is right and prepared to meet the maker! ReplyDeleteMy only misgivings about this post is that there does seem to be some judgment by the author. Remember, Christ himself said: "Judge not lest ye be judged." He also said: "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone" when confronted with a judgmental crowd wanting to stone a philandering woman. Everything else the poster said, IMO, is true. I pray for Steve Jobs' soul. He seemed to be a nice man.

Consider the difference between saying 'nobody is perfect' and 'I am not perfect.' Subtle but important difference. The OP identified that only God has judged Steve's eternal soul. The OP is not implying a judgment, but the certainty of everyone's judgment. That's a painful reality, but in the materialistic dictatorship of relativism, where the spiritual and eternal is categorized as irrelevant, a lot of people mis-identify human temporal success with the eternal, and demand the same of others.

However, if he died without having expressed repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ the bible is clear that he would be lost to eternal hell. JCM: I appreciate your thoughts and your comments. Consider the fact that Buddha did not rise from the dead almost 2000 years ago. Nobody has adjusted the clock or the calendar to revolve around Buddha as the center of human history. Even the iPhone Steve Jobs created testifies to the fact that Jesus Christ is the undisputed (i didn't say not disliked)center of human history. Every time you look at the clock and realize that the world counts time off of one man, the man Jesus Christ it is a testimony to a fact you cannot escape, a fact that will govern your life. Christ is Lord, God in the flesh. Creator, Judge, Ruler, King, Savior and Lord. Thank God for His rich mercy, love and grace in sending His Son into the world to save sinners. I've grown to really not doubt anyone's views on how everything came to be because in my view everyone's idea is just as valid as the next. All seem to be supported by some ancient text that I honestly don't think hold any validly today.
ReplyDeleteIs there is a God? I would say most likely yes. Do I claim to know who or what he is, where he came from, or what he want? No I do not because I've never personally met him or asked.
JCM: When it comes down to the facts of human history, "everyone's ideas" cannot be as valid as the next. We definitely should love and respect one another. At the end of the day Jesus is the only man in history who backed up His claim (He is God) with the life that proved it. If you go to Harvard, Yale, the NYSE, the United Nations or look on your birth certificate and death certificate you must consign yourself to the fact (you won't like it possibly) that Christ is the center of history because He was who He said He was and did what He said He would come to do. BC / AD , just like history class says.

I see you're using a very relative yet sensitive topic(Steve Jobs dying) to help people realize their own mortality and reach the lost for Christ. I don't think what you've written is insensitive or 'judgmental'. The selfish thing to do in these times would be to keep our mouths shut and not reach those around us who we love and those we just meet, with the SAVING message of the Gospel: repentance and faith. Thank you for your boldness, we will continue to pray for that and for God to prepare the hearts of those who would receive His Word in faith. ReplyDeleteReturnToTheTruth: Whether or not our time system is based of when Jesus died is irrelevant. It is simply that the person who devised the Anno Domini system wanted to honor Christianity. The beliefs of one man in no way dictate the truth.

Althought at first I was appalled at the original poster's remarks, the more I read, the more I began to think the poster was talking in a more abstract view of Steve's cause of death. I think the poster was talking about the cause of death for all of us, which is sin. The sin that was brought into this world by Eve in the Garden of Eden when she disobeyed God's cammand and ate the forbidden fruit at the urging of Satan himself. I believe the poster was dismayed that Steve was a Buhddist and may not have had the saving grace of the lord Jesus Christ. I pray that Steve may receive the lord's grace, just as I pray for all those who pass.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the Bible being "ancient text" that is no longer relevent today as JCM stated, I believe the text is just as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago. Lying is lying, stealing is stealing, killing is killing, just as it was 2,000 years ago. The virtue that led to to a good life then is the same as it is now. The wisdom shared in the book Psalms is just as relevent as it ever was. Although it may not seem easier at first, following the Bible is the easy way to live. I imagine all the heartache and problems still caused in my own marriage today that wouldn't be there if I had be sexually pure before marriage. My sin then still affects me 20 years later and life and my marriage would be easier without it. Still, there are many that would laugh at the idea of remaining pure for marriage. I wish the only memories I had were with my wife instead of my sins with other women also. This is just one instance that affects me, and 1,000's of others, every day. Think about how the guilt of forgiveness not given to a loved one before they died, or the guilt of lying, stealing, killing, adultery, or abandonment affect millions of people every day. Simply put, living the way the Bible commands is the easy way to live your life. May you all be drawn to God and receive His grace. God Bless

Is that like being in a murder trial and establishing that the suspect was at the scene at the specified time, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the case? Could we at least be intellectually honest? To say that the time system that governs EVERYTHING in our lives down to the checkout receipt at Wal-Mart is irrelevant is just plain intellectually dishonest. Furthermore, to say that it is randomly based on a single man's preference is hyper-intellectually dishonest. The restructuring of time / the calendar is based on the real historical fact of the the resurrection of Jesus Christ, an event so cataclysmic that it changed history and the way we count it forever. Period. Take it as evidence to any jury and they will attest to the fact of the matter, unless of course they would deny common logic and intellectual honesty.

The fact has simply been stated that if Steve did not repent towards God and place his faith and trust in Christ then he died in his sins and went to hell. His eternal power and Godhead is clearly seen by all men through creation (Romans 1) and the things that He has made. All men (yes even the professing Atheist), know there is a God. All men are without excuse for not honoring Him as God. So, I know what you mean when you say God won't send people to hell for not believing in Jesus, but He will send them to hell for sinning against Him / His Holy Law. Lying, stealing, adultery, murder. Also, on the contrary, He will not save them without believing on His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is God, if you don't believe in Him, you deny the One True God. If you are a "believer" and yet believe the bible does not have every answer for "life and godliness" or you believe it is skewed by men, then how do you know which parts to believe. He would want us to try to find more than just a book that DOESNT HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS TO EVERY QUESTION, like the holes that appear in the bible or where the dinosaur bones came from. do u have the answers cuz if so tell me where they cam from, and dont say they arent real. im optomistic and believe God could ask someone why he or she doesnt Beleive after life and they may get a chance for redemption whos to say. mainly i beleive in free will otherwise God wouldnt let us do anything bad so that we could b with him....saying that the bible could have most definetly been tempered with by the devil just as he presauded eve. if u dont believe that then why would God ever let us go to hell if he could just make us do something...?
ReplyDeleteUmmm No, we have faith BECAUSE He HAS given us the Answer, His Son (is the answer to all of life). God's glory is the reason for everything. The dinosaur bones came from dead dinosaurs, that God created and then allowed to die, that's not too difficult. I definitely don't have all the answers to the mysteries of eternity, creation, the God head, heaven, hell etc. , but my faith is based on rock solid assurance of Jesus Christ and the evidence of what I cannot see, namely the promise of eternal life. I believe in free will too, but the human will without Christ is in bondage to its nature, a fallen nature in sin. Simply said, "you are free to sin all you want to." (Isaiah 64:6 ... all of our righteousness is as filthy rags.) You can't make a Tiger a vegetarian, likewise you can't make a born sinner (even with free will) a saint, unless God intervenes and causes His Spirit to regenerate the heart (born again John 3). Thank God for His amazing grace! So, in short God doesn't just "let" people go to hell. We sin against God by our nature and our choice, everyone of us. That is why we must have a Savior and His name is Jesus, not Buddha, Shinto, Muhammad, the Pope etc. etc., or any other self-proclaimed prophet. The bible is unadulterated truth because Jesus said so and He backed up His claims with the evidence that He was God.
ReplyDeleteI was raised in a Catholic home. I went to church every Sunday and "Thou shalt not lie" was not one of the Ten Commandments in any bible I read from. People like you are the reason I turned away from organized religion. What right do you have to think you're better than someone because of your religion? Do you really think that God approves of that attitude? IF Gdd exists and we truly are judged when we die, we will be judged on how we lived our lives and treated others, not what church we went to. "Question without hesitation even the existence of a God. For if there be one, he must more appreciate the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear." RIP Steve Jobs. You said then He doesn't care very much ... have you never read, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son ..." To answer your question about "why God spoke (audibly) to a bunch of people in the OT", He has spoken in these last days through His Son, Jesus Christ. He didn't just speak, but came and dwelt among us and He was full of grace and truth! He humbled Himself to the point of death, even death on a cross! Can't you see the love of God and the Justice of God. You and I and Steve Jobs have broken God's Laws again and again. Jesus was perfect, never sinned, and came in perfect love to pay OUR PENALTY and give us the free gift of eternal life. Faith is not blind, it is absolutely based on the sure Word and testimony of Jesus Christ, His life, death, burial, resurrection and return. Turn to Him today, throw yourself at the mercy of God. You know in your heart of hearts what I am telling you is true and history proves it.

I completely agree with your point above "not designed to die". No one dies in this universe because the soul(energy) is immortal. Remember the words of another legend Dr Albert Einstein, 'Energy can Neither created Nor Destroyed, It can be only converted from one stage to another". Soul leaving the body doesn't means that you are dead.

Apple could have produced an iPod that prevented this so parents could have a choice. They could also block the illegal downloading of songs where most of the kids get the explicit music anyway but instead they turn their backs. This type of technology is impossible for parents control. Apple is therefore exploiting children for their own greed.

I believe that you have sought to make each of us think about death in the light of what is said in the Word of God. May we then consider own lives in the light of eternity. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We all need hope in the light of the fact that when we die, we will face God with or without a Savior to defend us. If we have not come to the Lord Jesus Christ, we will have to answer for our sins personally. If we have come to Christ, He answered and paid for our sins upon the cross.

We would hope that he turned to the only One who has risen from the dead by His own power and endless life, the Lord Jesus Christ. He alone can forgive us of our sins having paid their penalty in full upon the cross. Those who trust in Him are promised eternal life with him.
